The 17^th edition of Barcelona’s 080 Fashion week started this Monday and is taking place at the iconic Casa Llotja de Mar in Barcelona throughout the week. The opening catwalk featured the previous edition’s National Award to Emerging Designer winner CarlotaOms. The eventwill combine offerings from newcomers such as Pau Esteve with those of consolidated firms such as Custo Barcelona and Sita Murt. Besides the fashion shows, 080 Barcelona Fashion will also host many other parallel activities bringing together different points of view on fashion. One of the highlights of this edition is the presence of Manolo Blahnik, the shoe designer and global icon, who will present his book ‘Fleeting Gestures and Obsessions’. The event will also pay tribute to designer Pedro Rodríguez.

The 080 Barcelona Fashion Week of 2015 is being held in the Catalan capital, showcasing the winter collections of new talent. Its first day ended with the blossoming summer creations by the Catalan multinational retail Mango. This year, all the vibrant catwalks are developed within Barcelona’s Maritime Museum, located within a striking Gothic building that was the former Royal Shipyard during the Middle-Ages (known as the Drassanes Reials). This week, more than thirty brands and designers, from Catalonia, Spain and throughout the world, exhibit their Fall/Winter 2015 collections until the 5^th of February.

This week Barcelona welcomes international figures in fashion and the media for the 15^th edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion Week, taking place from Monday the 2nd until Thursday the 5th. Over 30 designers will showcase their new Autumn/Winter creations over four days. For the first time, the show will be held in the Maritime Museum of Barcelona (a Gothic building once home to the Royal Shipyard), where both upcoming talent and Catalan favourites like Desigual and Mango are set to own the catwalk. Besides, the Sita Murt brand will present the first collection since the death of the Catalan designer in last December.

The Born Cultural Centre has been selected as the venue to host the latest edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion Week, from the 27^th until the 31^st of January where the newest collections for Fall/Winter 2014-2015 will be showcased. In the show’s 13^th edition, more than thirty designers and brands are ready to participate from Albéniz to Zazo & Brull to already established names such as Custo Barcelona, Desigual, Mango, Sita Murt, TCN or Punto Blanco. The fashion show will take over different spaces inside the Born Cultural Centre leading to the closure of the cultural and historical centre, which has closed its doors to the public from the 25^th to the 1^st of February 2014.

From the 28th to the 31st of January, Barcelona became the capital of the fashion world as the eleventh edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion took place in the brand new DHUB building, the city’s new museum and professional centre for design. For four days, companies, independent designers and young fashion promises met on the Barcelonan catwalk.

In Igualada, some 50 km west of Barcelona (in Central Catalonia), the neighbourhood called Rec is characterised by its old tanneries and textile factories which were forgotten after years of great activity. Now, the organisers of ‘Rec Stores’ have transformed these spaces into fashion shops. For three days, brands such as Sita Murt, Custo Barcelona and Desigual have sold their latest fashion clothes and accessories. One of the organisers, Jordi Ribaudí, explained that the objective of ‘Rec Stores’ is to “unveil the neighbourhood, giving life to it and structuring it as a part of the city”.

Custo Barcelona and Toni Francesc are on show this week in New York. Their latest fashion creations for the next Winter-Fall season are being modelled along side work from 100 designers from all over the world as part of the famous New York Fashion Week.

Despite the financial crisis, six well-known Catalan brands showcased their products at the most important urban fashion fair of the year, the Bread & Butter trade fair in Berlin.

Catalan fashion designers Custo Barcelona and Toni Francesc are currently exhibiting their Spring-Summer collections at New York Fashion Week. Custo Barcelona’s collection is inspired by geometric shapes and graphic prints, while Toni Francesc seeks out environmental stability in his pieces this year.

The Catalan fashion designer has participated in ?Berlin Fashion Week?. Custo Dalmau has showcased his 2011 Spring-Summer collection of his brand Custo Barcelona. He states that having used the city?s name has helped him considerably.

215 international brands will be presenting their designs, including world famous trademarks like Custo, Munich, Sita Murt and Armand Basi.
