Barcelona-El Prat Airport had 29.1 million passengers, which means that Barcelona’s is Europe’s 9th airport. Girona airport saw a decrease of 8% in passenger traffic and Reus airport one of 16.7%.
The main Catalan airport received 15,1% more passengers in November, in comparison with last year. However, Girona and Reus airports are losing passengers.
The Catalan Government wants to reach an agreement with Andorra for future development of the project. Only small-sized planes can currently land. However, with a further investment, medium-sized planes could operate out of the Catalan Pyrenees.
