From the 28th to the 31st of January, Barcelona became the capital of the fashion world as the eleventh edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion took place in the brand new DHUB building, the city’s new museum and professional centre for design. For four days, companies, independent designers and young fashion promises met on the Barcelonan catwalk.
The Catalan textile industry accounts for 34% of Spanish fashion exports. A new report by “The Brandery” shows that in 2011, Catalonia was a crucial factor in the success of Spain’s growing fashion industry and emphasises its continuing and growing importance on the international fashion stage. The report was shown at an event this weekend and provides an encouraging insight into Catalonia’s significance in the Spanish fashion sector.
The Brandery is an urban fashion trade show which holds two editions every year, one in summer and the other in winter. The Brandery winter edition was held from the 27th through to the 29th of January 2012 at the Montjuïc fair trade complex.
The 5th edition of the urban and contemporary fashion exhibition The Brandery takes place in Barcelona from the July 13th to the 15th in the Monjtuïc venue. The fashion fair has created a new space called ‘Brandtown a FashionXperience’ that will host concerts, fashion shows and exhibitions.
215 international brands will be presenting their designs, including world famous trademarks like Custo, Munich, Sita Murt and Armand Basi.
