Manuel Valls may run for Barcelona mayor
France’s former PM “will think about” joining Ciutadans bid
France’s former prime minister Manuel Valls is considering running for Barcelona mayor as the candidate for Ciutadans, the main unionist party in Catalonia. “I’ll think about it,” he said in an interview with Spain’s TVE on Friday.
Valls, born in Barcelona, has recently become a blatant detractor of the Catalan independence movement. He took part in an anti-independence demonstration last March, called by Societat Civil Catalana, as well as joint political rallies of all unionist parties in the past election campaign.
