Barcelona (ACN).- American corporation One Distribution, which runs the skating brand Supra and Kr3w Denim, will move its European headquarters from Biarritz (France) to Barcelona. From the Catalan capital, One Distribution will also be managing its markets in the Middle East and Africa. The US company will occupy a 1,000 square metre building in Barcelona's 22@ technological district, in the Poblenou neighbourhood. Two showrooms will also be built to showcase One Distribution's products. According to sources from the Catalan Ministry for Business and Employment – which has assisted the company in setting up offices in Barcelona, 30 new jobs will be created within the first two years. Besides the new headquarters in Barcelona, the company has offices in the US, UK, France, Germany, China and Australia. Created in 2003, its products are sold in over 60 countries worldwide.
Until the end of 2013, One Distribution had its European headquarters in Biarritz, one of the continent's surf capitals. The American company has decided to move to Barcelona as it is regarded as one of the cities attracting more skaters in the world. Another reason is because of the Catalan capital's "high level of multiculturalism and artistic culture". In fact, according to the Vice President of One Distribution, Gary Parsons, "for the rapid growth of the company, the move makes much sense". "Barcelona has deep roots in the field of skating and fashion, which are the foundational premises of our brands", he continued. "Being able to say that this city is our home keeps us in touch with our principles", concluded Parsons
The project to set up its European headquarters in the Catalan capital has got the support of Invest in Catalonia, the service set up by the Catalan Government to attract foreign investment. Civil servants have provided information regarding logistics, fiscal incentives and taxation. They have also put the company in contact with suppliers, among other tasks.
