Sagrada Família offers four days of free entry to celebrate La Mercè
Those who want to visit can enter a draw to win four of 20,000 free tickets available
The Sagrada Família is opening its doors and offering 20,000 free tickets to celebrate La Mercè festival, Barcelona's largest public street party in honor of its patron saint, later this month.
The basilica opens its doors to the public each year for the festival to show off the current state of the works, but this year the open doors program will be extended across four days, from September 21-24.
Visitors will take a tour of the basilica and learn about the work being done to complete the tower of Jesus Christ, which will be the tallest of the set of central towers.
For the first time, a fragment of the prototype of the cross that will crown the tower will be shown to the public.
People interested in attending the Open Days can register for the draw for tickets until September 16, through a form on the Sagrada Família website.
