Rafting season kicks off in Catalan Pyrenees

A group of students from Gran Canaria inaugurated the season of water adventure sports in the Pyrenean region of Pallars Sobirà, on Friday. 

The twenty-nine young enthusiasts rafted a six-kilometer stretch between Llavorsí and the Gulleri bridge, in the well-known Nogeura Pallaresa river. 

The river, which attracts visitors from all over the world every year, has maintained its reputation for rafting for more than three decades, offering a wide range of water sports such as canoeing, hydrospeed, kayaking and canyoning.

With sections of varying difficulty levels, the route from Llavorsí to Rialp stands as the most popular. 

Manel Irimia, manager of Ràfting Llavorsí, pointed out the excellent conditions of the Noguera Pallaresa river, saying that it is "one of the only places in the world where you can raft and ski in the same day."

Starting this weekend, the Noguera Pallaresa river will be buzzing with boats full of school groups until Easter, which marks the peak season for adventure sports companies.
