UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against FC Barcelona following the Wednesday’s Champion’s League game against AS Roma.

The charge against the club, according to UEFA itself, is the “throwing of objects,” breaching article 16 of the entity’s disciplinary regulations.

The objects in question were yellow balloons thrown onto the pitch in the 17th minute of the game by Barça supporters at the Camp Nou stadium during quarter final first leg match. Barça fans also held up banners calling for the release of jailed Catalan leaders.

Yellow is the colour used by pro-independence supporters to show their solidarity with the imprisoned Catalan politicians and activists.

The game was briefly held up by the actions, but the team managed to come out on top, winning four goals to one. The case will be dealt with on May 31.
