FC Barcelona searching for new club anthem to celebrate 125th anniversary
Club members can vote on three proposals to be new club anthem
FC Barcelona has presented three proposals to be the new anthem for the club's 125th anniversary.
The three songs were chosen through a contest that Barça organized to create the new anthem, as is done every 25 years.
On May 30 of this year, the club put out a call for people to enter a lyric contest that would be used for the new anthem.
The Catalan side received more than 500 entries from all over the world, from which a jury formed by writers and musicians chose the three finalists.
These three lyrics were then given to Catalan musicians and composers Albert Guinovart, Núria Graham, and Carles Cases, for them to add the music to the lyrics.
After that, renowned Catalan producers Josep Montero, lead singer of Oques Grasses, and Alizzz, producer of songs by Rosalía and C. Tangana, put some final touches on these songs.
Club members of FC Barcelona have until November 29 to vote on the 'Socis' app for their favourite anthem.
The winner will be announced on the same day, at the 125th anniversary of FC Barcelona ceremony that will take place in the Liceu opera hall in the centre of the city.
