FC Barcelona expects to finish the Spotify Camp Nou stadium by August 2026, as the club announced during a press conference on Wednesday.

The team also believes they will be able to host 64,000 spectators by this year's end despite some pending works. Since the start of the works, over 5,700 people have been involved in the construction project led by Turkish company Limak after it won a tender.

"We are working with all our efforts to have the first and second stands ready by the end of 2024," Lluís Moya, manager of Espai Barça technical department, said during a press conference.

The third stand, which had to be fully demolished, will be installed next year, and be ready in two years.

"We are the most controlled construction work site in Catalonia, which we are very proud of, as we are well aware that we comply with the law and the legislation," Joan Sentelles, head of Espai Barça operations, said during a press conference.

Since the start of the works, the club has received eight different work inspections and, as they said, no sanctions. In over 400 days of work, there has only been one severe work accident, and about workers' complaints, they said that "there are always people very happy and others, not so happy," Sentelles said before announcing that they are working on a new labor agreement with workers.

One of the main complaints from neighbors has been noise and pollution. While the team had a license to work on weekends and until midnight during the year, the city council said that no construction would take place on summer Saturdays. Now, noise works would only be allowed from 8 am to 8 pm, and some non-noisy works far away from neighbors could happen until midnight, but only from Monday to Friday.

Currently, the Spotify Camp Nou construction site has 1,500 active workers, and they are looking to employ more people, but there are not enough employees available.

Barça announced that around €1.5 billion will be invested and that so far, only €342 million had been spent.

"Numbers are huge. We are building a Torre Glòries every six weeks," Sentelles said, comparing one of the main skyscrapers in the Catalan capital to the stadium.

Once the stadium is fully completed by the 26-27 season, it will have a capacity of 104,200 seats.

The FC Barcelona museum, the most visited in Catalonia, is expected to reopen during the third quarter of 2025 (July-September). There will be a new underground parking with 3,500 to 4,000 parking spaces.

The works have been available to follow live from a neighbor's window.
