The 2011/12 season closed with record profits of €48.8 million against a forecast of €21 million. Besides, the Board will ask the members’ delegates at the club’s assembly to authorise the calling of a referendum on the project relating to the future of the Camp Nou.

Delegate assembly on September 22nd

Freixa also announced that the club’s ‘Assemblea de Compromissaris’ (Delegate Assembly) will finally be held on Saturday September 22nd, coinciding with Barça’s football match against Granada in the Camp Nou (kick-off 10 pm). The first meeting will be held at 4 pm and the second at 4.30 pm.

At the Assembly, the Catalan club’s Board of Directors will present the strategic plan for the coming seasons and will ask the members’ delegates to authorise the calling of a referendum on the project relating to the future of the Camp Nou.  Freixa told reporters, “We want it to be the delegates who authorise us; we want it to be the whole membership who give their opinion on this subject”.

He also reminded everyone that this year there will be two informative sessions for all those delegates who wish to have further information.

Renewal of sponsorship deals

Freixa also announced that FC Barcelona has renewed, with improved conditions, the contracts of two of its sponsors: Assistència Sanitària (medical) until June 30th 2016, and Turkish Airlines, until June 30th 2015.

More contact with the membership

Toni Freixa also unveiled two new services that will bring the membership closer to the club: 'La Veu del Soci' (The member’s voice), an online tool soon to be launched on the official website designed as a space where members can put forward ideas and suggestions to FC Barcelona.

Preparations are also advanced for ‘Car Sharing’, a service also provided via the website to enable members who live outside of Barcelona to share their cars with others and thereby split the cost of travel.
