Barça's Aitana Bonmatí named The Best FIFA Women's Player of 2024
Six Barça Femení players feature in FIFA's best 11 of the year
Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmatí has been named The Best FIFA Women's Player for 2024, the second consecutive year she has claimed the prestigious award.
The latest accolade – together with her second Ballon d'Or in a row in October – cements the Catalan's status as the top player in women's football today.
Bonmatí was joined by no few that five other Barça Femení teammates in FIFA's Best XI of the year.
Another stellar year
It has been another stellar year for the 26-year-old, who helped lead her club side to the domestic treble and Spain to the Women’s Nations League.
The Sant Pere de Ribes native was also named Player of the Season in the Women’s Champions League.
Bonmatí found the net in the finals of both the Champions League and Nations League.
Barça domination
Barça Femení have now provided the winners of the last four Women's Ballon d'Ors and Women's The Best – equally divided between Bonmatí and Alexia Putellas.
Six blaugrana players were included in FIFA's Best XI: Graham Hansen, Salma Paralluelo, Aitana Bonmatí, Patri Guijarro, Ona Batlle, and Irene Paredes.
Real Madrid and Brazil forward Vinicius Jr won The Best FIFA Men's Player.
