Barça to begin planting new pitch at Camp Nou as renovation slowly advances
Stadium's grass will be planted next week, though construction progress has been slower than planned

FC Barcelona’s renovation of the Spotify Camp Nou is moving forward gradually, and one of the most anticipated milestones is just around the corner. Next week, according to local media outlets, the club will begin laying the new grass on the pitch of its refurbished home stadium.
While progress has been slower than originally planned, works are continuing at a steady pace, even though the club had hoped to be back playing on their grounds by now. More than 3,500 workers are currently involved in the redevelopment project, one of the largest in European football.

Barça is now focused on several key areas: construction of the third tier, installation of VIP seating in the first tier, and preparation of access points for spectators. Temporary 360° scaffolding is also being put in place to support lighting, cameras, Wi-Fi, and other essential systems that will be used on match days until the new stadium roof is complete.
Though the roof of the stadium, as previously announced by the club, will not be seen before summer 2026.
Extended work permit
To help speed up the project, FC Barcelona has received authorization from the city council to carry out uninterrupted construction works until April 30. The extraordinary schedule allows work from 8 am on Monday until 11:59 pm on Friday, as well as Saturdays from 10 am to 8 pm.

Although no official date has been announced for the team's return to Camp Nou, the club has confirmed that all remaining matches this season will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc. When Barça does return, it will be in phases, with only around 65% of the seating capacity initially available.
