Barça reach second Women's Champions League semi-final
The Catalan club are facing a last-four tie next month against Bayern Munich
Barça women's football team reached the Champions League semi-finals for the second time with a solid win against Norwegian champions LSK Kvinner on Wednesday evening.
The Catalanes took a healthy advantage with them to Lillestrom, having raced to a three-goal lead during an exhilarating first leg in Barcelona last week, which meant that a solitary goal from Lieke Martens in the seventh minute was enough to see them cruise into the last four.
Fran Sánchez's side, ranked fourth on the continent, will be the favorites when they meet Bayern Munich in the next round – in what is seen as their best chance of making the final of Europe's elite club competition, two years after they lost to Paris Saint-Germain at the same stage.
Their sixth consecutive victory marks the end of an extremely successful month for Barça, in which they notably beat their league rivals Atletico Madrid in front of a record 60,000 crowd at the Wanda Metropolitano, with England striker Toni Duggan scoring the first of two goals.
Barça will play the first leg against away to Bayern on 20 April, then the return leg will take place the following Saturday, 27 April, at the Mini Estadi, across the road from Camp Nou. Tickets will be available to purchase in due course via the official FC Barcelona website and vendors.
The teams will be competing to face either Chelsea or Lyon in the final in Budapest.
