Barça champions parade on Monday evening across city
Celebrations will include men's and women's teams and will start outside Camp Nou and end at Arc de Triomf
FC Barcelona will celebrate the successes of their men's and women's football teams with a parade across the city on Monday evening.
The event will kick off at 6pm outside Camp Nou, and will end around three hours later at Arc de Triomf.
Players are expected to tour the Catalan capital on an open top bus while partying and waving at fans.
The celebrations will cause some traffic disruption in the city during the evening. The parade will start at Camp Nou, and go along Arístides Maillol street, Travessera de les Corts, Numància, Berlín, París, Balmes, and Pelai streets, before reaching Plaça Catalunya. From there, they will go via Fontanella street, Urquinaona square, Trafalgar and Passeig de Sant Joan boulevard to Arc de Triomf, where they will call it a day after a 6.8-kilometer trip.
Barcelona's local police and the Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police will make sure the parade bus can move forward at all times, while there will be additional public transport scheduled throughout the evening.
Xavi Hernández's men won their first La Liga title in four years on Sunday at RCD Espanyol's stadium. While they have no other competitive aims ahead this season, Barça's women are still to play in the Champions League final on June 3 in Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, hoping to clinch their second continental trophy. Barça Femení wrapped up their fourth consecutive league title on April 30.
Monday's joint parade featuring both teams is unprecedented in the club's history.
