Woman found dead in Tarragona area suspected to be victim of gender-based crime
Body of 25-year-old was in country estate near Móra la Nova and had signs of violence
Catalan police are investigating a possible gender-based violence crime in Móra la Nova, by the Ebre river in the Tarragona area.
The body of a 25-year-old woman was found on Thursday morning and, while the Mossos d'Esquadra police force do not officially confirm the hypothesis, the Catalan News Agency has learned that they suspect she was a victim of a sexist murder.
She had a partner for a short period of time and a former partner with whom she had a good relationship – at least one of the men has already been interrogated.
A farmer in the town called the Mossos on Thursday at 8.15am local time reporting that he had found a body in a country estate near the N-420 road with signs of violence.
The young woman's family reported her disappearance on Wednesday evening after she did not return from work.
Mossos d'Esquadra detention
On Thursday evening, Mossos d'Esquadra confirmed that they had detained a person related to the victim, however they did not give more information claiming that the case is under secrecy.
ACN was able to confirm that the detainee was a friend of the victim that would have picked her up by car after she left her work.
