Two motorcyclists killed in head-on collision with car in northern Catalonia
Car veers into opposite lane, collides with motorcycles

Two motorcyclists passed away this Sunday noon as a result of a head-on collision with a car on the highway GI-555 in Riudarenes in northern Catalonia, according to the Catalan Traffic Service (STC).
The accident was reported at 12:14 pm, between Sils and Massanes.
A car veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with two motorcycles, resulting in the deaths of the motorcyclists.
With these latest fatalities, the number of people who have lost their lives on Catalan roads in 2025 rises to 47.
Driver arrested
The Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police arrested the car driver on Sunday afternoon. Aged 19 years old, he tested negative in alcohol and drugs tests, but faces charges of two alleged gross negligence homicide crimes.
The collision is still under investigation. Motorcyclists, aged 61 and 52 years old, lived in the seaside town of Canet de Mar, in the Maresme county, around 44 kilometers away from the site of the crash.
