Toy Story 4 to premiere simultaneously in theaters and Sant Joan de Déu hospital
For the first time, sick children will also be able to enjoy the release of a big summer blockbuster when the Disney Pixar movie opens on June 21
Looking forward with excitement to the opening of a big summer blockbuster is something many children around Catalonia will experience over the school holidays.
However, it is one of those experiences that sick children confined to hospitals would normally have to miss out on, but not this summer.
Toy Story 4, the latest instalment in Disney Pixar's cartoon movie saga, will not only premiere on June 21 in theaters, but also in Barcelona's Sant Joan de Déu children's hospital.
It's the first time in Catalonia that a film will open simultaneously in theaters and hospitals, and includes the university hospitals of La Paz, Niño Jesús and Gregorio Marañón in Madrid.
In order to make the screening possible, Sant Joan de Déu's auditorium will be appropriately kitted out with the technical support necessary to ensure the movie has cinema quality.
The initiative to simultaneously screen a movie in hospitals and cinemas all over Spain is thanks to a joint project between the Walt Disney Company and the Grupo Italfarmaco.
