The Cartera T-mobilitat app now allows iPhone users to travel directly throughout the Barcelona Metropolitan area on metro, buses, trains and trams, without needing a physical card.

As with Android, using the app has a one-time cost of €1, charged when purchasing your first transport ticket.

After a week of gradual deployment of the Cartera T-mobilitat app, the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM) confirmed that it is working "without any notable incidents" and that its use was extended to all iPhone users on Friday.

With the functionality open to a few thousand people during the first week, the ATM recorded nearly 8,000 ticket purchases on iPhone and more than 9,000 validations.

The Cartera T-mobility app can be downloaded from the App Store and must be used in conjunction with one of the T-mobility apps that iPhone users already had at their disposal, specifically the T-mobility app or TMB app.

Soon, it will be available to use with the FGC T-mobilitat app.
