T-Jove travel pass for young people extended to under 30s from March 15
Unlimited journeys over 90 days for €40 were only available to under 25s until now
Public transport users will be able to use the T-Jove travel card for young people until the day they turn 30 from March 15.
The T-Jove is a personalized ticket valid for an unlimited number of journeys over 90 consecutive days across Catalonia. Until now they were only available to under-25s, but the maximum age has now been increased by five years.
Those between 25 and 30 will be able to use them in the Barcelona area on March 15 and a month later elsewhere in the country.
The passes cost €80, but a temporary anti-inflation discount has been applied to the price, lowering it to €40 for single-zone journeys.
Other discounted ticket fares to counter inflation will also apply throughout 2023.
The T-Jove passes will be issued through the T-Mobilitat contactless ticketing system.
In September 2021, the Catalan government published its plan for the current term, including raising the maximum age for such cards in an effort to contribute to the fight against climate change.
