Spain-wide Telegram block overturned
On Friday, the National Court gave operators three hours to suspend access to the messaging app
Spanish National Court judge Santiago Pedraz has overturned the order to suspend the instant messaging application Telegram, ordered by the court last Friday.
On Friday, a judge at the National Court ordered internet providers in Spain to block Telegram in response to copyright infringement claims from media companies Mediaset, Atresmedia and Movistar Plus.
The judge requested more information on the workings characteristics of the application, as well as information on the impact that the temporary suspension may have on users.
The National Court revoked the blocking of the app considering that it would be an "excessive and disproportionate" measure.
