Some cancellations and delays on day of partial strikes in commuter rail network
Workers striking against transfer of Rodalies to Catalan authorities

Several commuter trains were cancelled this morning around Catalonia and others have seen delays due to the partial strikes this Wednesday against the transfer of the Rodalies network.
The incidents affected the lines R2, R4, RL3 and R7.
The train from Sant Celoni to Castelldefels at 8.15 did not run at all, and the R11 from Figueres to Sants at 07.55 stopped at all stations.
In addition, the one from Vilanova i la Geltrú at 8.38 and the one from Estació França to Vilanova at 7.28 also did not run.
The first train from Sant Vicenç did not run until 6.00 and the one from 7.48 between Estació França and Sant Vicenç stopped at all stations.
Renfe has assured that these incidents have had little impact on users, since they have been informed through all channels, and alternatives have been proposed for their journey.
The strikes are planned in three time slots, the first from 6 to 9 am, the second from 2 to 5 in the afternoon, and the last between 9 and 11 at night.
The strike also tackles the Rodalies transfer to Catalonia, which was part of a deal between pro-independence Esquerra Republicana and Socialists to see Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez reelected back in November 2023.
The major unions, including CCOO, UGT, SEMAF, and CGT, called on striking on seven days across March and April: March 17, 19, 24, 26, and 28, and April 1, and 3.
A day of full strike was scheduled for Monday, March 17, but this was halted at the last minute thanks to a deal. Yet, the service was still severely disrupted.
