A sixth building in Badalona, near the one that collapsed a month ago, killing three people, has been evacuated after technical inspections found serious cracks in the structure.

The building is located at number 118 Ausiàs Marc Street and is adjacent to the one that was evacuated last week.

This evacuation brings the number of evicted families to about 120, according to Spanish news outlet El Periodico.

Although the recently evacuated buildings are not adjacent to the one that collapsed at number 9 Canigó Street, they all belong to the same block of flats.

After the collapse, technical inspections in the area were carried out by a company urgently hired by the Badalona city council.

"It is worrying because these cracks are not just in one or two flats, but in several of them in the building," Badalona mayor Xavier Garcia Albiol said.
