Sarral rave in western Catalonia comes to an end four days later
Two illegal gatherings attract more than a thousand partygoers over weekend
Revelers in Sarral, a small town in western Catalonia's Conca de Barberà county, are finally packing up on Tuesday, four days after the illegal Carnival weekend party started.
Music was switched off around 1 am and only 40 or so vehicles remained parked beside the site hours later.
Most of the 700 people who attended the rave have already left, which is why Mossos d'Esquadra police expect the area will have been completely vacated by the evening.
All in all, reports were filed against 22 people, of which three were detained, including a person who was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol after departing the premises.
Officers are continuing to drug and alcohol test drivers leaving the area.
Another illegal party near the small town of Torà, also in western Catalonia, ended on Monday after attracting up to 500 people.
Magí Coscollola, the mayor, told the Catalan News Agency (ACN) that it was the third rave in three months and that neither the council nor the property owner had authorized it.
