Rosalía to build recording studio in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat
City council celebrates Catalan singer's initiative as it will promote Cultural District area
Catalan singer Rosalía has established herself as a superstar and is now opening a recording studio right next to Barcelona in Hospitalet de Llobregat, as reported by the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia and later confirmed by the Catalan News Agency (ACN).
The recording studio will be two streets away from the Fira Gran Via fair venue in Carrer de Can Pi street, where the Catalan singer is renovating an office building.
Besides producing music there, she also plans on making the building the headquarters for her family's company, Motomami SL, which has a subsidiary in real estate development.
"We're very happy and satisfied, it is very important the impact the recording studio will have to boost the city's economy and to promote the cultural district," a city council representative told ACN.
The superstar's studio will be close to the old Godó i Trias factory, which will be transformed into a visual arts center. Together the two projects expand the cultural area in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, which has attracted around 500 artists so far.
At the moment the construction license is being processed to move the singer's plans forward.
