Spain's train operator Renfe opened a new WhatsApp channel to report on Rodalies commuter train network disruptions to travelers' phones.

The service was launched on Monday and will be a unidirectional communication tool between the company and commuters.

Travelers will receive warnings on any disruptions, rail issues, and alternative public transport options in case of any trouble in the service. Those subscribed to the WhatsApp channel will also receive messages when Rodalies recovers its normal service.

Users will not have to provide their phone numbers or personal data, as the channel offered by the instant messaging platform limits the visibility of those who are subscribed.

Those interested can subscribe to the service by following this linkhttps://www.whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vav4hGTId7nPenKMuo2C
