Provisional prison without bail for man arrested over death of partner in Salou hotel
Tarragona court may bring homicide or murder charges, pending investigation
A 30-year-old man arrested over the death of his partner in a hotel in the coastal town of Salou on Sunday has been sent to prison without bail while the investigation continues.
The man appeared before the court of violence against women in the southern city of Tarragona on Wednesday morning.
Charges of homicide or murder could be brought, according to sources at the Catalan High Court (TSJC).
Both the perpetrator and victim are foreign nationals and EU citizens.
Around 50 people, including local and Catalan authorities, gathered in Salou on Monday evening to show their dismay over the death of the woman.
