Police raids against drug trafficking, human trafficking, and money laundering across Catalonia
More than 700 officers from two police forces carrying out around thirty searches on Wednesday morning
More than 700 police officers from two forces, Mossos d'Esquadra and National Police, have carried out another large-scale operation on Wednesday morning against a criminal group involved in human trafficking, drug trafficking, and money laundering.
The officers are carrying out around thirty raids in various Catalan towns in the northern, southern, and central metropolitan regions, including Castellbisbal (in the county of Vallès Occidental), which is the epicentre.
Searches are also being carried out in Gelida, Martorell, Vallirana, Piera, Masquefa and Pont de Vilomara.
The operation is led by the criminal investigation area of the Metropolitana Nord and the Rubí Investigation Unit.
There is also an operation in Castellón, in the region of Valencia.
The focus of the operation is the organization's marijuana plants.
Wednesday's raids follows another wide-scale operation involving 500 officers across Catalonia and other parts of Spain on Tuesday, which saw at least 22 people arrested.
Courts have put a secrecy order over the security actions.
