Police investigate death of father and son in Arenys de Mar
Victims' bodies were found with signs of violence
The Catalan police Mossos d'Esquadra is investigating the death of a father and his son in Arenys de Mar, in the Maresme county, outside of Barcelona.
The victims are 32-year-old man and a minor, whose bodies were found with signs of violence.
According to a press release issued by Mossos d'Esquadra, the local police of Arenys de Mar received a call during the night warning them that there could be someone dead in that house.
Local and Catalan police officers responded to the location and discovered a small fire inside the house. When the police forces were able to enter, they found the two bodies.
The house is located in an urbanization known as 'Colònia Andersen'. The estate where the events took place is and old mansion divided into five smaller houses.
Throughout the year, only two people live in the property, the victim and Jordi, a neighbor who lives alone. The other houses are owned by families who use them as a second residence.
Jordi, the neighbor, explained that during the events there was no one else in the estate, as he arrived later.
The parents of the minor had recently divorced, and he visited his father frequently. Jordi confirmed that he did so "frequently".
He also stated that father and son had a good relationship.
The case is currently under investigation and under a secrecy order.
