The Catalan police force Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested the owner of a motorcycle dealership, and are investigating three other individuals, in relation to a motorcycle trading scam in Barcelona.

As confirmed by Catalan News, the man arrested is the owner of the Harley-Davidson dealership on Calvet Street in Barcelona, the first store of the Harley-Davidson brand to open in Spain.

Specifically, they are being investigated for allegedly belonging to a criminal group and for allegedly being the authors of a scam crime, forging documents, and wrongful appropriation of vehicles.

According to the police, the alleged criminal activity consisted of buying second-hand motorcycles, reselling them and keeping the victims' money. The group is also accused of selling new motorcycles that were never delivered to clients.

The police have found about twenty victims so far, but they do not rule out that more victims will come forward.

The Mossos d'Esquadra received various reports of scams at the end of August 2024 regarding vehicle trading.

The people affected by the scam contacted the dealership owners, who stated that they were facing financial difficulties.

In the month of September, the dealership concluded its commercial activity.

On November 6, the Catalan police arrested the dealership owner and recovered 11 motorcycles.

The investigation is still ongoing.
