Police arrest man over partner's death in Cornellà de Llobregat
Victim suffered several stab wounds in early hours of Sunday morning
Catalan police, the Mossos d'Esquadra, arrested a 34-year-old man on Sunday morning after the death of a woman, his partner, in Cornellà de Llobregat.
The incident took place at around 2.30am in a home in the Gavarra neighborhood of the city, just outside Barcelona.
According to police, they received a call to attend an incident where a woman had been injured.
When they arrived at the scene, they located the woman, who had suffered several stab wounds. She was resuscitated but eventually died.
A criminal investigation has begun.
Cornellà City Council has declared three days of mourning and organized a rally for 7pm on Sunday.
