Barcelona (CNA).- Veterinarians in the porcine sector have a new professional tool at their disposal. 'Portal de Casos Clínics' ('Portal of Clinique Cases') is an innovative website, a first in Europe, which facilitates information exchange between these professionals and allows them to follow up on the state and evolution of porcine illnesses in real time. The application, launched by Porcine Sanitation Group (GSP) in Lleida region together with the Catalan Ministry of Agriculture, has already 7,000 cases indexed. The aim is to help veterinarians to diagnose, as well as anticipate problems and optimise the resources and time used for treatment.
'Portal de Casos Clínics' allows veterinarians from the porcine sector to know the sanitary incidences of an area in real time. Professionals will have access to this information through their smartphones and it will help not only the treatment of the illnesses but also their prevention, reinforcing hygienic measures and using preventive medicine.
The information provided by the website is based on the cases indexed, which include the name of the illness, its gravity, the date when it was diagnosed, the kind of animal affected, the location, the medical centre and the diagnosis.
The aim is to create an effective tool based on information and experience exchange between professionals. The website will have a list of alerts, clinical cases provided by veterinarians, geo-located on a map in real time, a technical library supervised by doctors and a list of diagnosis protocols.
'Portal of Clinique Cases' will facilitate optimisation of the resources when diagnosing an illness and access to a unified answer for the entire porcine sector.
