Over 25 km of traffic on AP-7 highway as hundreds of thousands continue to leave on vacation

There were over 25 km of traffic on the AP-7 highway this Saturday as hundreds of thousands of vehicles continue to leave the Barcelona area.

Around 1 pm, most of the congestion was concentrated between the towns of Castellbisbal and Gelida, Mollet del Vallès and Montornès del Vallès, as well as between Agullana and la Jonquera, according to the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT).

An accident near Mont-roig del Camp also led to a couple of kilometers of traffic.

Some 380,000 vehicles have already left the Barcelona area, 78% of the 490,000 that are expected to do so over the weekend.
