Two dead in Salou shooting
One arrested in connection with the events as police searching for two more
Two people have died in a shooting in the middle of the street in Salou on Wednesday night.
One of the victims was initially seriously injured but eventually passed away on Thursday.
The events took place shortly before 11 pm in the coastal resort town in southern Catalonia, in the area of Plaça de les Palmeres.
The alleged perpetrators fled in a French registered car that the police intercepted at 11.10 pm in the Mèdol area on the AP-7 highway.
Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police arrested one 24-year-old man for his alleged connection to the events, and officers are still looking for two other suspects.
Several weapons were found inside the car, and police do not rule out that the matter is related to drug trafficking.
Daniel López, a tourist who was staying in the area and heard the shooting, described the event as "very shocking."
"We were in one of the inner rooms and it was still terribly loud," he said.
