No evidence found for pedophilia case against Ukrainian journalist Anatoly Shariy

No evidence has ever been found for a pedophilia case against Ukrainian journalist Anatoly Shariy.

Catalan News has not been able to confirm any claims relating him to such a crime in the Netherlands, since some claims made in the past were false and the judiciary of the European country dismissed the accusation.

Shariy is a media professional who has repeatedly faced rallies of other Ukrainians outside his house in Roda de Berà, outside Tarragona in southern Catalonia. The protests have become more frequent ever since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

Critics accuse him of being "pro-Putin" and, in one of the protests against him, signs appeared on the street where he lives with his wife and son calling Shariy a pedophile.

Yet, Catalan News has no evidence of such a claim and, indeed, an individual in the Netherlands was forced to compensate Shariy with €75,000 after being found guilty of defamation.
