Man arrested in Vic over death of partner missing since April
Equality and feminism ministry condemns alleged male violence behind woman's death
Catalan police Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 59-year-old man on May 11 in connection with the death of his partner, who had been missing since at least April 19.
The arrest was prompted when investigators learned that the suspect intended to leave the country. The man was handed over to the Vic court on Monday morning.
The Catalan equality and feminism ministry condemned the "femicide" and expressed its deepest condolences and warmth to the family of the victim, who was allegedly murdered as a result of gender-based violence.
With the confirmation of this case, there have been eleven deaths of this nature in Catalonia so far this year, according to the ministry.
