Man dies after being shot accidentally by hunter in Pyrenees

An elderly man died on Saturday morning in Val d'Aran in the Pyrenees after being accidentally shot by a hunter. 

Catalan police, the Mossos d'Esquadra, are investigating the causes and circumstances of the incident. 

They say the victim was in the Hèisha Barrada area of the municipality of Canejan but was not participating in the hunt. 

Aran's emergency services received notice of the incident at 11.22am and a rescue helicopter, mountain rescue team and police were dispatched to the scene.
