Long security lines in Barcelona Airport amid labor conflict
Workers plan to strike on August 4, claiming more resources are needed
Passengers taking a flight from Barcelona Airport on Monday morning had to wait at least an hour and a half to get through security control and reach the departure lounge. Meanwhile, airport staff complained about their working conditions, and said they feel under a lot of pressure due to growing workloads.
Security guards plan to strike on August 4, while tomorrow, July 24, they will meet with representatives from Eulen, the company in charge of security, and will put forward a plan to ensure the minimum functioning of the airport on that day.
The state airport operator Aena told ACN that there were no more operations than normal. More than 1,000 planes were expected to take off and land at the airport during the day.
