LGTBIQ+ Pride parade to take over Barcelona's Gran Via on July 20
Campaign calls for early education on gender and sexual diversity
Barcelona's Pride celebrations will take place from June 28 to July 21 and will promote early education in gender and sexual diversity.
International LGTBI Pride Day on June 28 will kick off a month of events throughout the city.
The highlight will be the LGTBIQ+ Pride parade, which will take over the streets of Barcelona on July 20, traveling down Gran Via and ending at Passeig Lluís Companys.
The celebrations will have three main stages: Plaça Universitat, Passeig Lluís Companys and Plaça Catalunya.
This year's Pride theme will focus on children, calling for the inclusion of gender perspectives and sexual diversity in schools.
The motto of the celebrations is 'Education in Sexual and Gender Diversity: An unfinished subject.'
The campaign also calls for the training of teachers and school staff, the activation of assistance and support protocols for LGBT aggression, and more educational materials on the subject.
