House prices in Catalonia increased by 3.5% in fourth quarter of 2023
Newly built homes saw the highest price increase at 7.9%
House prices in Catalonia increased by 3.5% in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the previous year, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Newly built homes saw the highest price increase, reaching 7.9%. However, the increase represents a 2% decrease compared to the annual variation in the third quarter, when it rose to 10.2%.
For existing properties, prices rose by 3%, the same increase as in the third quarter.
In Spain as a whole, the annual variation of house prices in the last quarter of 2023 decreased by three-tenths, settling at 4.2%.
House prices in Catalonia remain below the Spanish average. Other autonomous communities saw higher increases, such as Andalusia with 5.3%, Navarra and Ceuta with 4.7% and 4.6% respectively.
