High school Catalan and Spanish results worsen but English and maths improve
Final year primary school results in Catalan, English and maths improve slightly
The Catalan and Spanish results of 4th year high school (ESO) students in basic skills tests have continued to decline for another year.
On the other hand, results in English and mathematics for the latest cohort of 16-year-olds improved.
The results for Catalan language were 72.3 points, 1.8 points less than the previous year, while in Spanish language they fell to 71.6 points (3.6 points less).
In the 6th grade of primary school (12-year-olds), results improved slightly in Catalan, with 72.7 points (0.2 points more); in English, with 77.8 points (0.9 more), and in mathematics, with 73.6 (2.5 points more).
Conversely, results for students in their final year of primary school worsened in Spanish language, falling to 71.2 points (1.9 points less) and in natural world, which dropped to 71.6 points (1.2 points less).
