The Department of Health will send two million messages to people's phones this week to reminde them to book flu and Covid vaccination appointments.

In a first phase of the vaccination campaign, which began on September 23, people living in car homes, those over 80, and pregnant women began were offered vaccines.

In a second phase which began on October 14, it was extended to children aged between 6-59 months, over 6 years old, and people with risk conditions.

Now, Catalonia's health department reminds people in these groups who have not yet received the vaccine that they can make an appointment at their local primary care center (CAP) or vaccination points.

Booking an appointment must be done through the La Meva Salut app preferably, but it can also be done through the appointment portal salut.gencat.cat or in person at the CAP.

So far, the rate of vaccination in Catalonia as a whole is similar to that of previous seasons. In total, more than 766,000 doses of flu vaccines and 571,000 against covid have been administered.

Health officials noticed a change in trend in the incidence of influenza between November 11 and 17 that "could indicate the beginning of the epidemic peak."

However, Salut has pointed out that the transmission is still at a low level.
