Girl killed and boy in critical condition after car plunges into canal in Roquetes
A third child was also injured and transferred to the hospital in an accident in southern Catalonia

One girl was killed, and one boy is in critical condition after the car in which they were driving plunged into the canal in Roquetes in the Baix Ebre county in southern Catalonia.
In the car, there was a woman and three minors, and the causes of the fatal accident are still unknown, as the Catalan News Agency (ACN) reported.
The third minor was also injured and was transferred to the Joan XXIII hospital in Tarragona. Meanwhile, the child in critical condition was taken to Barcelona's Sant Joan de Déu hospital.
Emergency services received the warning at 5 pm. The Catalan firefighters deployed ten units to the site, including special forces and the subaquatic unit, which did not intervene. Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police and local police were also on the scene.
The medical emergency unit transferred the girl, in severe condition, to Tortosa's Verge de la Cinta hospital, just a 10-minute drive from the site of the accident.
The mother, driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, was also treated at the same hospital, although she did not face any severe injuries.
