Four arrested after Lamine Yamal's father stabbed

Four people have been arrested in connection with the stabbing of the father of FC Barcelona footballer Lamine Yamal, Mounir Nasraou.

The events took place on Wednesday evening in a car park in Mataró, where the family are from.

The father of the blaugrana player is now in a stable condition and his life is not in danger, as he himself said on Instagram.

The first three arrests were made on Wednesday night by the local police of Mataró, while the fourth was detained for attempted murder on Thursday morning. 

The police are also questioning several witnesses and hope to be able to speak with the victim.

Municipal sources have let it be known to the Catalan News Agency that Nasraoui and the detainees were involved in a fight earlier in the afternoon.

The Mataró local police received a call at 4.30 pm about a fight taking place Carrer de Frank Marshall in Mataró and identified all those involved.

At around 9 pm, the municipal police received another call about a fight taking place in the Rafael Estrany parking lot.

From the description given by witnesses on the scene, police were able to link this with the earlier fight.

The four arrested were brought before the court on Friday morning.

The suspects involved have no police record and are charged with attempted murder.
