The transmission level of the flu continues to rise significantly, with 205 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, surpassing the basal level and nearing the threshold for moderate transmission, which could be exceeded this week, according to data from the Infection Surveillance Information System in Catalonia (SIVIC), updated on Tuesday.

As a result, the winter flu outbreak remains in an upward phase and is expected to intensify in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the transmission level of RSV shows a slight increase, with 110 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, signaling the end of the ascending phase of the outbreak this winter. As for Covid, the transmission level remains at a basal level.

Epidemiologist Antoni Trilla from Hospital Clínic predicts that the rise in flu cases will continue for "three or four weeks" and noted that, despite the increase, the number of cases remains at "moderate levels."
