Five fans arrested for fighting ahead of Barcelona-Lyon match

Earlier in afternoon five French supporters were injured in attack by Barça fans near Camp Nou stadium

Barcelona police arrested five people on Wednesday afternoon after they were injured following a fight between fans of Barcelona and Lyon football clubs, which were due to face each other in a Champions League match at the Camp Nou stadium later in the evening.

All five people were taken to medical centers to receive treatment for their injuries before being handed over to the Catalan police. Three of the arrested people were Polish fans of Lyon and two were Spanish fans of Barcelona.

An hour earlier, at around 4.45pm, five French fans were injured after they were allegedly attacked by Barcelona fans not far from the stadium. Police began looking for the attackers, while one of the injured was taken to the Sagrat Cor hospital with a head injury.
