"Héctor, what does this mean? We'll talk today," an Instagram user wrote in the comments of a photo shared by FC Barcelona defender Héctor Font and LGBTQ activist Brigitta Lamoure.

"What is this behavior Hector bru....." another comment reads.

The photo was shared on Easter Sunday, and since then, the comments section has been filled up with homophobic messages. And, once those messages started appearing, many more showing support for the two individuals began popping up.

"All our support to Briggita and Héctor," the Catalan observatory against LGBT phobia wrote on social media.

"It is necessary to face and eradicate LGBT phobia. We absolutely condemn hate against diversity and freedom," the text continues.

Lamoure thanked everyone for their "support" and said that it "is a pity that there is this much hate. However, this has to give us the strength to continue fighting for a fairer, secular, diverse, and inclusive society."

FC Barcelona, according to local newspaper Ara, "always condemns homophobic attitudes in society and in sport."

Since January 1, the observatory has registered 76 LGBT phobic attacks in Catalonia, and 35 of which in Barcelona.
