Central Electoral Board leaves decision on extending opening hours of polling stations to regional boards

Central Electoral Board authorizes the provincial electoral boards to extend the voting hours only if it is proven that there are no means to arrive in time to vote. They've published a resolution where assures that electoral boards could makes this decision "only exceptionally".

The extension will only possible if "those cases were there are enough data to confirm that there are no alternative routes to reach the polling station during the voting period."

This is the answer to the request made by Esquerra and Junts+ to extend voting hours in Sunday's election due to the disrupted services in the Rodalies commuter rail system.
