The Civil Protection Agency has issued a rain and flood warning for southern Catalonia.

The Inuncat Plan alert has been activated due to forecasts of significant rain in Baix Ebre, Montsià, and, to a lesser extent, Terra Alta.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC), rainfall could exceed 100mm within 24 hours in these areas, with the threshold especially likely to be surpassed in the Ports massif.

Significant rainfall could occur in the Ribera d'Ebre and Baix Camp regions.

The Ebre River Basin Authority has issued an alert for the possibility of sudden river surges, which could be significant in ravines and smaller tributaries of the Ebre River.

As for sea conditions, waves higher than 2.5 meters (rough seas) are expected along the Montsià and Baix Ebre coasts from Wednesday evening through to early Thursday morning.
