Catalan language recovers visibility in Google search results

The Catalan language has recovered visibility in Google search results after the search engine has updated its algorithm. 

After more than 66.5% of Catalan websites saw their reach reduced compared to those in Spanish, the presence of the language in the first results doubled.

While a month ago only 24% of results in Catalan showed up, that number has increased to 57% according to the Alliance for the Digital Presence of Catalan. 

The Catalan government and ten other social entities have been actively collaborating with Google to recover the visibility of the Catalan language. "Google has started to change its algorithm and now we can confirm that visibility of webs in Catalan has improved substantially," the Alliance for the Digital Presence of Catalan stated.
